Companies in Poland

Company in Poland- an activities of natural or legal persons based on a contract or a statute and usually intended to run a business. As for the name - company - there are many different legal institutions that have little in common with the name. Companies in Poland are usually systematized according to the branch of law that regulates them. Polish law regulates:

• companies of administrative law, which are associations of persons appointed to supervise joint ventures: water companies and companies to develop land communities,
• civil law company: it is currently only a civil partnership, which is a contract that is regulated by the Civil Code. It means that the company it is not subject to any rights or obligations, does not own property - in turn, there are shareholders of a civil company, who are entrepreneurs, and the assets of the company belong to shareholders and is in their joint ownership (shareholding),
• commercial law companies (trade) which are (to a certain degree) distinct legal entities created on the basis of relevant agreements:
  • partnerships: general partnership, partnership, limited partnership, partnership limited by shares;
  • capital companies: limited liability company, joint-stock company, pan-european companies: european company, european economic interest grouping.

Some companies in Poland, because of their specific non-normative characteristics, are referred to as "lighter companies" or "silent companies", others based on normative characteristics are qualifed as sole proprietorships, parent companies, affiliated companies, subsidiaries and public companies.
